Residential

Deck Project

This deck project was started in August of 2011 and completed the following September. The customer wanted a long lasting product that would require very little maintenance and still keep it's original appearance.

The product used was Trex Flooring from our local supplier Berry's Home Center in Abington, Va.

A  highlight of the project is the outdoor wood burning fire pit on the upper level of the porch. This fire pit serves as a focal point and gathering area for the upper deck level and is set atop a 12"X 12"  tile slate floor that is inset into the Trex decking.

Kitchen Remodel

This project was the complete remodel of a customers kitchen and the work involved was the removal of appliances, repainting of the antique metal cabinetry, installation of new solid surface countertops, and the addition of an enclosed area for a stacked washer/dryer combination adjacent to the area used as a breakfast nook.

The walls were also painted and a ceramic tile back-splash was added below the upper cabinets in the kitchen area. All lighting fixtures were also changed and can lighting was installed in the breakfast nook area.

Deck Addition

This project included the addition of a section of decking in front of the existing deck as well as adding a roof covering that extended from the adjacent roof of the house to the end of the new deck bump out.

Some design features of this addition are the skylights located toward the original house roof line, a cupola with a weather-vane, and architectural trellising details in the front facade of the added section of roof.

In the process of building the additional deck and roof covering, the original deck was restructured and fortified to provide support for the weight that was being added to the decking above.
